Effective Date: 29 July 2026. Pepper Bay Records respects the intellectual property rights of artists, songwriters, producers, composers, and copyright owners. This policy explains artist responsibilities, how copyright concerns are handled, and how infringement claims may be reported.
1. Copyright Ownership
Artists retain ownership of original music, lyrics, compositions, recordings, and artwork unless a separate written agreement states otherwise. Submitting content does not transfer copyright ownership to Pepper Bay Records. We receive only the permissions necessary to review, prepare, distribute, and promote content in accordance with requested services.
2. Rights Required Before Submission
Before submitting content, artists confirm they have all rights necessary to distribute it, including rights to sound recordings, compositions, lyrics, samples, instrumentals, beats, cover and motion artwork, photography, videography, promotional materials, artist names, and branding. Contributors and collaborators must have granted permission before submission.
3. Copyright Responsibility
Artists are responsible for ensuring that submitted content is original or properly licensed, does not infringe copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights, contains no unauthorised samples or unlicensed beats, and does not use artwork or media without permission. Pepper Bay Records relies on the representations made by the submitting artist and does not verify ownership of every submission.
4. Copyright Infringement
If we receive a credible complaint or discover evidence of infringement, we may suspend distribution, delay or remove a release, request proof of ownership or licensing, seek additional documentation, or terminate access in cases of repeated or serious infringement. These actions may be taken without notice when necessary to meet legal obligations or distribution partner requirements.
5. Reporting Copyright Infringement
To report infringement, email contact@pepperbayrecords.in with your full name and contact details, a description of the copyrighted work, the URL or details of allegedly infringing content, a statement explaining why the use is unauthorised, supporting ownership evidence, and a good-faith declaration that the information is accurate.
6. Investigation Process
After receiving a complaint, Pepper Bay Records may acknowledge receipt, review the information provided, request documentation from either party, contact the artist involved where appropriate, consult distribution partners, and take action based on available evidence. The time needed to complete an investigation varies with the complexity of the matter.
7. False or Misleading Claims
False, misleading, or fraudulent copyright claims may lead to rejection of the complaint, suspension or termination of services, or legal action where permitted by law. All parties are expected to act honestly and in good faith.
8. Repeat Infringement
Pepper Bay Records may suspend or permanently remove artists who repeatedly submit content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others. Repeated violations may result in the removal of existing releases and refusal of future submissions.
9. Distribution Partner Requirements
Music distributed through Pepper Bay Records may be subject to copyright policies of authorised distribution partners and streaming platforms. Artists must comply with those requirements, including requests for proof of ownership or licensing. We are not responsible for independent enforcement decisions made by third-party partners or platforms.
10. Limitation of Responsibility
Pepper Bay Records acts as a service provider for artist submissions. While we take reasonable steps to address copyright concerns brought to our attention, we cannot guarantee the originality or ownership of every submission. Artists remain responsible for their content and legal consequences arising from infringement.

Pepper Bay Records may update this Copyright Policy to reflect changes in applicable laws, industry standards, or our services. The latest version will always be available on pepperbayrecords.in.
